Eat, Drink, and be Scary

On Thursday, October 31st, Honors students gathered for a "Disturbed" Brain Games viewing and brief talk with Honors sciences professor Dr. Ken Andrews. After the viewing, Honors students made their way to the Academic Engagement Center for a discussion over snacks and a costume contest. Macy McDonald as the "Ringmaster" walked away the victor of the costume contest and $31 richer thanks to the generosity of the Dobbs family.

Clayton Worsham, Alexa Engles, Alan Dennis, and Jaylea Lillard as "Scooby-Doo and the Gang"

Emily Davis as "Raggedy Anne"
Macy McDonald as "The Ring Master"

  1. The Honors Halloween event was a lot of fun; if you missed it, you missed out! The costume competition did not disappoint. The costumes were super cute and original. The spooky snacks were spot on and Brain Games was very interesting. I was impressed with the turn out honestly and it was nice to see that even on a holiday when people could be hanging out with their “non Honors friends” that we came together and had a great time.

  2. I enjoyed the costumes and the cool show we got to watch. The food and mini contest we had afterwards was probable my favorite part of the night.

  3. Beginning with Brain Games, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! Dr. Andrews picked the Battle of the Sexes episode where various couples were tested and reasoning was given based on which 'sex' answered correctly. Then we got to enjoy some spooky snacks and watch the "Ring Master" do her thing. I was extremely impressed by her whipping skills...little intimidating. ;)

  4. This night was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed watching Brain Games with the group! I had seen the show before and really liked it, so it was nice getting to see another episode. It was also entertaining seeing everyone's costumes and their rendition of them for the costume contest!

  5. I really enjoyed the Halloween Honors event we had this year. Last year I enjoyed trick-or-treating for canned goods, so I was a little disappointed that we didn't do that again. All in all though, I really enjoyed the night. Brain games was extremely interesting, and the costume contest was a lot of fun. Like the others, I was pleasantly surprised at the good turnout we had in numbers. It's always a fun time when we have faculty members and honors students together after school hours. I'm thankful that Dr. Andrews took time out of his busy social schedule to spend some time with us. I know we all enjoyed it.
