  1. The honors trip to Oklahoma City made for a great day. We got to go to the art museum where we saw works from many different artists. It was neat to see how the different pieces and artists had so much variation and even works from the same artist each had their own individual look. I find it very interesting how different people have such different views of art and what they think is beautiful. After lunch and some fun at the park we went to Shakespeare in the Park at the Botanical Gardens. This was a very unique venue for a play and I thought that it added a different element to the atmosphere. I enjoyed watching Romeo and Juliet and looking for the different elements that we discussed in class. We were looking at how the director would choose to cast actors for the different characters and how those actors would choose to portray their role. It was neat to see the elements they chose to emphasize and how it affected the feel of the play.

  2. I enjoyed the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. It was my third time attending, but I had never actually read any of the art descriptions on the walls. They were interesting to learn from. I would never have considered some of the works to be so intricate or detailed. The Chihuly art is always stunning, even the third time. The piece titled Seal Pups is my favorite. I think it’s really cute. It was a nice experience to see how my new friends reacted to the museum. Some of them were extremely happy to be there, and some were confused by all the art that didn’t make sense to them. Either way, I will always want to go back and visit OKCMOA. Kamryn Akers
